Regional Talent To Shine At Inaugural Red Carpet For Gulf Film Festival

True to its mandate to promote and nurture Arabic cinema, the first edition of the Gulf Film Festival (GFF) will welcome Arab stars from the region at its inaugural red carpet, to take place on April 13 at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre.  

The star studded opening night ceremony for the world premiere of “Four Girls” by Bahraini filmmaker Hussain Abbas Al Hulaibi will see various GCC stars grace the red carpet including Kuwait’s famous actors Saad Al Faraaj, Ibrahim Al Harbi, Heba Al Dore and Zahra Arafat. Haifa Hussain and Anwar Ahmed from Bahrain, Qatari Abdul Aziz Jassim and Oman’s Ibrahim Al Zadjali and Saleh Za’al.

The week long cultural event will see many more stars walk the red carpet at the closing night on April 18, which includes the award ceremony for winners in the various competition segments and the honouring of the three film stalwarts for their contribution to the regional industry.   

Talent for the closing night ceremony include Abdulhussain Aabdulretha, Mohammed Al Mansour and Zahra Arafat from Kuwait. Abdulla Abdullmalik, Shaima Sabt, Fatima Abdul Rahim, Haifa Hussain and Anwar Ahmed from Bahrain. Abdul Aziz Jassim from Qatar and Saleh Za'al from Oman.

The inaugural edition of Gulf Film Festival is scheduled to take place between April 13 to 18 at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Center at Mall of Emirates.
