Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group, Kempinski Hotels, has partnered with the inaugural edition of the Gulf Film Festival to offer hospitality support to visiting talent, filmmakers and media.
Founded in Germany 111 years ago, Kempinski Hotels has long reflected the finest traditions of European hospitality. Today, as ever, Kempinski is synonymous with distinctive luxury. In addition to operating many of the finest city hotels in the world, Kempinski is a name that can now be found in many exciting resort locations, each combining local flair and ambience with the international standards of service and luxury that Kempinski guests have come to expect.
Masoud Amralla Al Ali, Festival Director of GFF, said: “we are very proud to be able to command the respect and endorsement of such reputable companies for our very first edition. Kempinski Hotels, well known for their commitment to excellence in hospitality worldwide, will combine their international experience with traditional Gulf hospitality to create an ambience that will enable our guests to relax and unwind during the Festival’s activities.”
GFF aims to develop local and regional film culture in the Gulf, creating greater opportunities for GCC-based filmmakers to screen their films and develop future film projects. In celebrating the cinematic excellence of the region, GFF aims to become a destination festival that will showcase what Gulf cinema can offer to the international film community.
Mr. Michael Henssler, General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates in Dubai said, “We are pleased to be part of this important initiative, which will give exposure to Gulf national filmmakers and Gulf culture through the eyes of its most talented writers and directors. GFF aims to present excellence in Arab and Gulf cinema to a discerning global audience. Our partnership with the Festival reflects our earnestness to support projects that enhance the region’s creative ambitions and complements our vision to be at the forefront of regional hospitality.”
The inaugural edition of GFF will take place between the 13-18 April 2008 at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Center at Mall of Emirates.
